If you want a hearty, satisfying, and authentic Indonesian meal in Sydney, this is the spot. The quality of the meat and the completeness of the lauk (side dishes) make it worth every cent!

Tasty Indonesian restaurant!
Serving sizes were decent and actually had a lot of protein.
Can’t fault the service, it was quick and efficient. They will help explain the menu if you need.

An indo restaurant owned by Chindos. Yummm! And very big portion. Service was nice as well. Cash has 5% off. My chicken was dry, but my partner’s chicken was freshly fried, very juicy and tender. More

Ordered take away rendang and was given these tiny portions. Previous I had ordered the same thing and it was a significantly different experience and was way more filled out. Full price and rushed. Food was good but take away portion is severely lacking. More

I'm sitting in my hotel in a food coma that was worth every mouthful.....
I came across this resto walking to my hotel and noticed a strip of Indonesian restos so googled and decided on this place...
Got there put my name down behind a few others and checked out the menu..... decided on Rendang Sapi and side of green beans for my vegetable intake.....
Came out in a wrapped up paper parcel and opened to a delight of Rendang coconut rice sambals cassava leaves egg.......
It was next level delicious 😋 very generous for 23 dollars....
Rendang was tasty not very soft but definitely not hard with a nice chew.
Sambal was spicy and delicious as was the eggs and I loved the cassava leaves!
Mind definitely blown i cant wait to take my family cause we live Indonesia but can never find anything decent....years ago there was one place in Sydney that did Indonesian food and it was average so supa excited I found this strip and this delicious resto!!!
Cheap aswell....

The food tastes great! (It would be even better if there were smaller portion options — sometimes when girls dine alone, we can’t quite finish a full serving.) I’ll definitely come back again — and if I can’t finish it, I’ll just take the rest to go 😁

We had an ayam bakar set with side of beef rendang and cendol to share between us two.
I would give the food 4/5, taste good but not super memorable. Maybe because I’ve never really had a bad ayam bakar anyway so it’s hard to go wrong with that, and the rendang was so so for me.
But my husband had strong opinions on the rendang - he said it’s one of the worst he’d eaten and he kept repeating that 😅 it was not soft (or melt in your mouth that he was expecting), quite hard, and the flavours/spices were a bit lacking. TBH, my mum made better rendang too, that is more memorable (considering I ate that at least 4 years ago) and it was her first time she made it. Chendol was okay, was expecting some more incidents inside but it was mostly coconut milk, gula Melaka and green jelly.
Still open to coming back but definitely not for beef rendang.

I had a one-plate feast in the form of their Nasi Padang ($20.90). It's crazy that it's both value for money and delicious. Can't seem to find both nowadays.
My plate comes with beef rendang, 1 fried chicken drumette, jackfruit vege curry, cassava leaves, an egg and coated fried cassava chips. The curry ladled on the rice was super yummy too.
I haven't enjoyed much of the food I tried in Australia so far, so having one that really made me go "wow this is delicious" feels good.

They say this is one of the best Indonesian 🇮🇩 restaurants in Sydney and probably Australia. Well the expectation and hype truly paid off as the food was pretty tasty. Heard there usually is a line to eat in the restaurant but when we came we didn’t have to wait.
The food portions is pretty big and it was full of flavour. Service is quick and efficient and everyone of the dishes looked real presentable and yummy 😋

This restaurant feels so authentic. I’m really glad I can still taste Indonesian food and enjoy the atmosphere even when I’m far away from home. I had the Ayam Kremes and it instantly reminded me of home. The sambal is very spicy, so be careful if you’re not great with spicy food like me!

I can't stop coming back to Medan Ciak. I usually get a Nasi Kapau (in the leaf). It has everything you could want and such vibrant flavours. The portion size leaves you stuffed at an affordable price! The restaurant is a no frills, get in, get out sitch and is always packed but well worth a little wait.
